Earthquake Drill

The Great Shake Down

I went under the table. When there is an earthquake I would hold on to a table leg.

Lachlan
I went to Kaikoura. I went to the car show. I looked on the free box. I found a Mickey Book and it's called “A Small World”. It came with a tape. I like my book. It is fun to look at. I brought it to school.

Winter
I went to the park. I saw a frog asleep and I saw an orange fish. I saw a train.My family had fish and chips with coke. There were stones on top of the little river. I saw an eel in the river. My dad found it. I found a dragon fly.

Harrison
I went up the hill with my Mum and my next door neighbour. His name is Elliot.

Maja
My sister is going to camp. She took her sleeping bag and she took her pillow. She is going to sleep in a cabin.Then she is coming back.

Hunter
My family is going to Wellington. We are going to the zoo and the museum to see dinosaur bones. It will be cool.

Farewell Miss Jordan

It was Miss Jordan's last day with us today. We have had a fun 5 weeks with her and we wish her the best of luck with the remainder of her teacher training. Good bye Miss Jordan.

Thank you for the yummy cupcakes and lolly pops Miss Jordan.

It was a great way to end the busy week.

Last Day Of Lessons

Today we jumped through the waves in the wave pool.

We learned how to dive.

We had turtle races.

Swimming lessons have been so much fun.

Life Jackets

Today we all tried swimming with life jackets on. It was a new experience for lots of us, but now we know how to use them to keep safe in the water.
Thank you Andrew (Lily's Dad) for contributing these photos. We hope you enjoyed watching the swimming lessons.

Friday Lessons

It was a lovely sunny day and we went for our swimming lessons again. At the wave pool the people had put out a box of floatation devices for us to play with. We had float boards, buckets, ice cream containers, cake tins, small cones and some lids. It was fun trying out what was best.
Mrs Eden watched all the groups and was amazed the progress we are all making.

Lachlan, Maja and Issy-  You can all go under the water and I am so impressed with your kicking on your backs and fronts. Well done!
Bailey, Aliyah and Kayla You are doing so well with your floating. Keep up the good work.
Rees, Hunter, Winter and Lily Your instructor is so proud of your progress. I can't believe how long you can flat for now. You are learning to use your arms.
Ryan, Biunka and Caleb You are all learning to breath properly as you swim. Great kicking techniques as well.
Harry, Ashana, Kyle and Jessica-Lee I loved watching you learn to dive today. You are all awesome swimmers.

A Special Syndicate Assembly

Every second week we have Syndicate Assembly. Today Miss Adams took a great session of Jump Jam.
Mrs Armstrong helped us sing "Happy Birthday" to all the children who have just turned 5 and 6. Miss Jordan presented awards to Hunter and Lachlan.

Then......

Mr Irvine brought Jonny to officially open our new puppet theatre made by Dean our caretaker. (Thanks Dean- we really love it!)
