Emergency Services Day

Today we had our Emergency Services Day as part of our whole School Rich Topic about Disasters.  We were very lucky to have the Richmond Fire Brigade, the Police, Search and Rescue and the St John Ambulance visit our school to talk to us and show us some of their equipment.  Firstly, we put our coins on the coin trail.  Next we split up into groups and went to different activities.  Some of us got to talk into the walkie talkies, some of us got to carry a Search and Rescue Pack  (very heavy!), have a look through the Ambulance, pat Pixel the Search and Rescue dog and some of us even got to use the fire hose!!  It was a superb day and we learnt a lot about what these wonderful volunteers do for our Community.

Cross Country at Rabbit Island

Today we had the Richmond School Cross Country at Rabbit Island.  We traveled out by bus.  We had all trained extremely hard and gave it our best on the day.  Congratulations to everyone who participated.  Many thanks to all the Parents who came out to watch and cheer us on!  We had a fabulous afternoon on the beach after our yummy sausage sizzle lunch and delicious ice block.  What a great day!!
