Thank you Rees
What a fabulous surprise! Today Rees's clever Mum brought in these wonderful cakes. The green one had all of our faces and names on it. There was a rainbow cake inside. It was so yummy. Discovery Time Again
We had Discovery Time again today. Our focus is still Relating To Others and Self Management. Our activities included building with blocks, painting on black paper with cotton buds, a craft table, box models, learning to play padder tennis, exploring with magnifying glasses and making patterns with Duplo. We had reflection time at the end of the session.
Here are some of the ideas we discussed:
- It was easier to use the tennis bats if you just do little hits first.
- It was fun building the patterns and following instructions with the Duplo.
- Everyone had to collaborate to make the big block construction.
- If we put the teddies close together it was harder to keep them all standing up.
- We see lots of interesting detail when we look carefully through the magnifying glasses.
- It is hard to cut the cardboard but friends can help you.
- It feels really good when friends give you a compliment.
- Discovery Time is a happy time.
- The pipe cleaners were not so easy to cut because there is wire inside them.
- The feathers and pompoms were fun to explore with on the craft table.
- We enjoyed painting on black paper.
Some people did not help with cleaning up. We are a team in Room 14 and that means we need to all help keep our environment clean and tidy.

Mrs Armstrong Is A Tap Dancer
Mrs Armstrong is a teacher and the Syndicate Leader in the Year 1 area of our school. She is also a tap dance teacher. Today she showed us some tap shoes and told us she has been dancing since she was 8 years old. We went back to class and wrote a report about what we had learned. We also did paintings of Mrs Armstrong that you can see displayed in the corridor outside our room. Thank you Mrs Armstrong. We were super impressed.

Discovery Time 24 October
As you can see by our weather app it is a rainy day today so we had to have all of our Discovery Time inside. We had sewing, painting, Klikko, origami, card making and Zingo. We had lotsof fun participating and contributing to our group efforts. We did problem solving and tried to persevere with our projects.
Another Science Experiment
This morning we did another science experiment. Mrs Eden didn't have any white vinegar so we used malt vinegar instead. We put baking soda in the balloon and when it reacted with the vinegar it formed bubbles and the carbon dioxide made the balloon inflate.

Room 14 and Room 13 joined together for buddy
