Swimming Lessons

Hi Room 14,
I hope you have enjoyed your holiday break.
Remember we have our two weeks of swimming lessons starting on Monday5 August. Now is the time to get your togs, goggles and swimming towel ready.

We leave school at 10.00am. Our lessons are at 10.30 and 11.00am and we will get back to school about 11.50am. Please remind Mum you might need an extra little snack in your lunch box as you will get hungry with the additional exercise.

I am looking forward to seeing you all on Monday.

Today Angelo and Amadeo turned seven. Claudia, their lovely Mum brought down popcorn and lolly pops for the class to share just before we went home. Thank you Claudia.

For Maths this week we are learning about clocks and telling ther time. We made these clocks today and put them together with a split pin.

Some Of Our Ancient Civilization Work

On Friday morning each class walked around the school looking at the wonderful work completed during our school Inqury Learning unit about ancient Civilizations. This photo is made on Pic Collage and shows some of the work we have done. We really enjoyed visiting the other classrooms.

The Big Sad Wolf

Today three actors from The New Zealand Playhouse came to perform a very, very funny show for us.It was about the Big Sad Wolf. They included aspects and characters from several stories we know. We thought they were very clever to change their costumes so quickly.

Maori Language Week 2013

This week it is Maori Language Week. We will learn to pronounce some Maori place names correctly. Listen to this video and see if you hear some places you know.
