Faulkners Bush

Today we had our end of year outing at Faulkners Bush in Wakefield. Thank you to the parents who supplied transport. We hope you had as much fun as we did. We were pleased to see many of the parents enjoyed the lovely cool iceblocks we had just before returning to school.
Some of the activities we did at Faulkners Bush were playing on the playground, riding on the flying fox, walking up the hill to the lookout, playing teeball. frisbee and soccer. It was such a hot day and we all returned to school very tired.

Our hall is getting decorated. All 10 classes have learned their song and dance. Our costumes are ready. Our tee-shirts are painted. We are getting very excited. We have 4 performances to do this week.

Decorating Our Tee-Shirts

Today our teacher aides and a FANTASTIC group of parent helpers worked very hard so that over 190 children in our Junior Syndicate all painted their tee-shirts for our Christmas Concert. Tomorrow the holly berries will be painted on the wreaths, We are going to look realy great.
Thank you Sharon P. You are a real star coordinating the team to make this activity so successful. Mrs Eden thinks you are a real "Star".

Life Education

Today we had the first of our Life Education lessons about Air To Live. Victoria introduced us to Harold the giraffe. She told us about how we breath in oxygen and how it goes to our lungs. We saw Tam the doll and she she showed us the body parts we need for breathing.We look forward to going back tomorrow. Air To Live

On Wednesday all the Junior classes will be painting their

tee-shirts with handprint wreaths as part of our costumes for the

"T'was The Night Before Christmas" concert.

Working Together

The Butterfly Garden.

Room 14 saw lots and lots of caterpillars in the caterpillars garden. I saw 51. Even I saw a  cracked  butterfly.  I  saw  babies.  When I went  into the cage I saw lots and lots  of  caterpillars.  I  liked it so much. It  was so much fun.

Today we went to look at the butterfly garden. When we came back some children wrote stories about it on the ipads.

Practising For The Concert

Our Junior School Christmas Concert is going to be presented on December 5 and 6. Each class will sing and perform a song as the poem "T'Was the Night Before Christmas" is narrated.Room 14 is dancing to "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree". We have started learning the dance moves.

Family Feast Night

Tonight many families came back to school for the Family Feast night. There were two bouncy castles, lots of food stalls, a cake stall, face painting and a lucky dip. The choir, school band, kapahaka groups and Jump Jam troups entertained the crowd. Everyone had such a great time. Thank you to the PTC for coming up with the idea and all the teachers who trained their groups to sing and dance.

 There was so much fun on this huge bouncy castle.

 People enjoyed sausages, burgers, cakes, berries and cream and so much more.

We Took Assembly

Today we took the school assembly. Mrs Eden was very proud of the way the people with speaking parts used their lovely, big, clear and expressive voices.

Preparing For Assembly

On Friday of this week it is Room 14's turn to take the school assembly. Many of us have speaking responsibilities. We have been learning Mrs Eden's favourite poem called Forgiven by A.A. Milne. It is about Alexander Beetle. Here we are trying out our masks we have made to wear while some very clever readers from our class recite the poem. Parents and caregivers, you are welcome to come and watch us.
