Strike Percussion Show

Today some members of the Strike Percussion group came to perform for our school.
Some of the items were very loud but we really enjoyed it. We saw the Tuk, Tim and Tom play all the drums and the marimba. They invited some children up the front to play the Cook Islands Log Drums. Mr Higgins and Mrs Heath were asked to go up the front to play a rhythm on the drums.
 

We Love Having Parent Helpers.

Today Tayla's lovely Mum spent the afternoon helping in our classroom.

While Mrs Eden did Maths with us and helped us make clocks for our unit on 

Telling The Time, small groups of us worked on our Papier Mache bowls activity.

We Are Proud Of Amy

Mr Brenton (our Principal) and Mrs Brenton are in Scotland at the Commonwealth Games.

Their daughter Amy and her husband are in the New Zealand Bowls team. (Amy and Shannon Mcllroy). Very early this morning the woman's fours won a Bronze medal. Here is Amy (second from right) with her team, their medals and the New Zealand flag. We are super proud of her.

Some of us wrote stories about  the exciting news.

Mr  Brenton went to Scotland to watch Amy play Lawn Bowls. She won a Bronze medal.That means she came third for bowling. She stood up. Someone else won the Gold medal. They sang the National Anthem. Jo Edwards, another bowler from Nelson won a Gold medal.

Very early this morning Amy won the Bronze medal. Mr Brenton was surprised and very proud. I watched her play. I heard the National Anthem  this morning. I saw the New Zealand flag.

 Today at Discovery Time we all worked together to develop our Self Management skills. Look at the carrot creations we made. The marble race is a great collaborative activity. It is Maori Language week and many of us chose to do this colouring activity.
